Hickenlooper on cheetos, per capita emissions, etc.

Interesting interview on the KBCO morning show this morning with Governor Hickenlooper. You can download the podcast here. In addition to explaining how he's become famous in Sweden, his response to a question about the fracking ban in Longmont was about US per-capita GHG emissions. He said that in the US, they're the lowest they've been since the Eisenhower administration (shaded area in the figure below).

Data from the CDIAC and US census show that, unlike his comments about US emissions at the CSU Natural Gas Symposium which he purported to be "mostly factual," this statement is entirely counterfactual. I'm not sure how he's miscontrued these data, but he is consistent!
